Finally downloaded LibreOffice! Bye bye Microslop Office!😆
Using Microsoft Word during my internship while reading about current chaos in the tech industry and how Word keeps hounding me to upload my file to the cloud (probably to feed it’s LLM) just made me want to have nothing to do with it.
It’s gonna be a slow change but I’m excited to learn more about LibreOffice as a piece of software and as a project. It has an account on the Fediverse!!!

Been doing a deep cleaning of the house the past couple of weeks and we rediscovered the old laptops.
Dad wanted to refurbish then and donate them but seeing the current state Windslop 11 I am feeling inclined to paying someone to install Linux in one of these machines.
I have some experience with LibreOffice from school (crazy) and I hold those memories quite fondly.
My laptop’s battery doesn’t hold past two hours so I’m thinking of using that one for work because otherwise I would spend an unhealthy amount of time on it and a Linux based one for personal projects or entertainment.
Hm, FeedFlow doesn’t display certain Mastodon toots in reader mode. I wonder why. Will look for another FOSS option.
Got the news that ToggleTrack is introducing limits to their API and while I don’t use it, reading about the process of enshittification I am cautious of changes to services that limit its connection to external applications.
Even more the announcement, I have had the fleeting thought of downloading my data for safekeeping.
This is an opportunity to consider the value of a time tracker and look up open-source alternatives.

So it IS possible to migrate from an account on Sharkey (Misskey) to micro.blog. Still struggling to import its posts. Will update this post with news on that. Update: still no dice. Will try another day.

Downloaded F-Droid and peruse the apps. I’m going to text the following apps and see how I like them. First time I’m ever using a mobile app store aside from Play Store. In a way, it feels nostalgic, before it became the go-to option.

My laptop’s been having an issue and I’m not quite sure of the reason behind. I have it solved twice and want to keep the answer handy so here it goes.
When I turn on my laptop and the F11 key (which controls Airplane mode) stays orange, my laptop is unable to turn on the wifi, rendering it pretty useless.
Backing up the files in my laptop has gone up in my list of priorities.
